    Pronunciation dilemma

I love the name Lucia pn Loo-chee-a but I'm afraid everyone will pn it Loo-sha. Also my last name starts with sh so I'm not sure if this name works well with my last name with either pronunciation. What do you guys think, is this name usable with a last name starting with sh? Also which pn of Lucia is more common of the two I mentioned?

    Where do you live?

Around here, Lucia would be pronounced loo-see-uh.

The only Lucia I know pronounces her name "Loo-see-ah".

Loo-sha definitely wouldn't work with a last name starting with sh, the repeditive sound makes it difficult to say. Lu-chee-ah is a little better, but the chee and sh sounds together isn't something I prefer.

I live in the south eastern part of the U.S. I like the pn Loo-see-a as well but the other two seem more common. If I used the name I would like to use the pn most commonly used in Italy to reflect my Italian heritage.

I have only ever heard this name pronounced either Loo-cee-ah or loo-chee-ah. I prefer Loo-cee-ah, but that is because it's the Spanish pronunciation.
