Thread: How would you honor a Barbara?
April 30th, 2013 12:12 AM #6
Barbara isn't that bad. I would use it in the middle spot.
What about her maiden name?Emily, 19, Southeastern US.
College student, name nerd, and generally geeky.

Use a Bar- name or a Ba- name. I have a bunch of Mar- named people I wanted to honor but don't like any Mar- names so I picked a Ma- name I love.
I'm also honoring my MIL by using her initials, and my mom by using her favorite color/gem and birthstone as a middle.
If you can't find another way to honor Barbara, the following are nice:
Trying for our first.
Jack . Walker . David . Gabriel . Jonah . Joe . Michael . Whittaker
Dream Combos: Jack Gabriel Walker & Jonah Michael Whittaker
Clementine . Margot . Elizabeth . Jillian . Sybil . Beatrice . Vesper
Dream Combos: Clementine ??? . Margot Jillian . Diana Elizabeth
Avatar: Sarah Connor kicks ass.

Barbara is dated, but I agree it's a very nice name (if we weren't all sick of it, and thus treat it as frumpy). If you want to honor someone, use it as a middle name. Otherwise, besides Babette, I don't think there are variations that would do the trick.
What kinds of names do you like, that might work in the first spot with Barbara as mn?
