Love Joseph, but Joss is a very feminine sounding nn. The problem with nn's is that they can be difficult to get rid of. If you are only planning to use it when he's young among your family, then ok. But if he goes to school and establishes himself as Joss, it can be hard to shake later when he may not want a feminine nn... like as an insecure teen or pre-teen. However, if you move often or live in a big city, this might be less of an issue.

Jagger is cute as a nn, as is Jack... Both sound great. Jag could also be cute... I loved the show JAG when I was a kid.

I'm terribly partial to the nn Joss, but alas, not to any Jos- names. From my research it seems to be a traditional nn for Joseph. Joss Whedon (full name Joseph!) did pave the way to possible popularity and it certainly hasn't slowed him down!
