    Wow! I'm an Ellis, and while I don't mind it, I've never imagined anyone who would consider it their dream surname.

    Knightly and Monroe are some other ones I enjoy. I also love Italian surnames. Wilde and Hemmingway are lovely, as is Darling. Willoughby and Wolfe are lovely.

    From my own family tree, I would pick Bennett, Goodall, Walker, Sutton, Warner, Hathaway, Fitzgerald, Dawson, Batsford, Maidment, Warburton, Charles, Tobell, George, Morgan, Hunt or Cynwyl.
