I would say Ella was a modern classic and Eloise was more vintage.

I guess it depends on what you consider classic. I consider a name to be classic when it has been used consistently for over a 100 years. Both Ella and Eloise have had some dramatic ups and downs over the past century. They seem to be more susceptible to trends. I don't think I would consider them classic.

Thanks for the input.... I am more along the lines of Ella falling in as a modern classic, with Eloise being more vintage (I adore Eloise!)... I guess in my mind a true classic is like:
    Anna
Elizabeth and so forth. I was just interested to hear other's opinions on the topic.
