    Medieval Girl Names

I need help finding the perfect name for my character. She's a really sweet and caring person. And very pretty. Only one problem, she's an alien from a destroyed. Kind of like Superman. She's a little bit traumatized by it all, and she's only 6!!! Something sweet, slightly formal and exotic but with a cute nn. Thanks!

I’m just trying to behave as I think a friend should behave. Granted, I haven’t had much practice.

I tend to think of long, elaborate names, usually from nature or mythology. I tried not to list things normally found on nameberry for modern kids to meet your formal, exotic, and sweet criteria.

    Melisande -- Meli, Milly, An
Millicent -- Milly or Cent (play on words --> sent?)
Gwendolyn -- Doly instead of Gwen
    Vasilisa -- Vee
    Hannania -- elaborated Biblical name
    Drucilla - Dru or Drury
    Priscilla - Prissy
    Iseult - Izzy?
    Olleander - Ollie or Ann(ie)
    Orlandra - Andra
    Normindy - Mindy
    Hilaria - Hill, Hillie, Ria
    Calendula - Cal, Callie
    Sallietta - Sal or Sally

I have no idea if that helps, but I had fun thinking of them!

do NOT do something like Guinivere, as BBC has that covered, let alone Morgana, as BBC has that covered as well. I'd have to suggest something like Elizabeth, nn Lizzie/Beth, Liza, Liz or Eliza.
