    Cemeteries yes, but I can't read obits. They upset me even when I don't know the people.

    I used to play man-hunt in the cemetery behind my friends house when I was in elementary school (her father was the minister - he always felt that the dead were still part of his flock and made his kids help tend to forgotten or lesser taken care of graves). People thought it was inappropriate that he let us "play" there but he figured the dead wouldn't mind children running and laughing as long as we respected the grieving. (Like the ying and yang of life and death). I definitely made some "name" friends while hiding next to a headstone or two.
    It took a lot of the scariness and finality out of death. Obits are sort of the same for me except you get to know more about the people instead of their birth and death dates.
