I didn't mind Calla until I started learning Spanish... now, even though I KNOW how to say it in English, all I can hear is my Basque high schoolers telling each other to "shut up".
It's not always that harsh, though, haha, it can just be being quiet.
I don't think Calla is too "out there" but if you're worried about it, I love the mentioned of Caroline. Caroline nn Calla. I like that a lot!Lucia

I think Calla is lovely and not too 'out-there' at all. It may not be common but it's made of familiar sounds which means that it is unusual without standing out as being too weird.My furry darlings ~ Bodie the border terrier & Portia and Penny the guinea pigs
