    Una ftw!
The first time I ever read this name was in Rainbow Valley by L M. Mongomery~ Anne book 7. Una Meredith is a very sweet lovely character. If I ever used this name (not likely), it would be to honor her. (More likely to have daughters Anne, Marilla, or Diana or Rachel! Also Ilse and etc.!)
I don't why some use the other spelling. It makes me think of the Addams Family. "They're creepy and they're kooky; they're seriously spooky: they all together ooky- the Addams Family" I never watched that show, but I have heard the theme. All those words with the double o's make me connect them to Oona. Idk. I guess I just like the other spelling.

I'm of Irish heritage so Oona is most intuitive for me.
    All the best,

Una. It's prettier, it's in The Faerie Queene, and it's the original Irish spelling as well.
