Lesser known Biblical place names
Hi there! I found a list of Biblical place names on Wiki and listed out the ones I thought would work as names. Some would no doubt be very bold. It started out as a girl name list but I think some of those might be better for boys. It's debatable. But I'm putting them here because I think they're mostly feminine.
This is not an exhaustive list obviously. But I found some I wasn't aware of. I particularly like the Z names.
Some of these may have unpleasant meanings or associations of which I'm not aware. Although I left out the obvious ones, like Gomorrah and Golgotha.
Bethlehem - I've always thought this would make a lovely girls name
Gethsemane - Pronounced geth-SEMM-uh-nee, I think it's quite nice
Jericho - unisex? More for boys?
Jerusalem - make fun if you want, I've always secretly loved this as a girls name. Nicknames include the adorable Ru and the witchy Salem.
Lycia - I believe pr. LI-see-uh, with a long I as in "rice"
Rome - cute mn for a girl or fn for a boy
Zelah - ZEE-la, really like this, actually met a Zela once
Trying for our first.
