Is Norbert really a geek forever?
I always have a significant amount of trouble finding boy's names that I like, and when I do find some, they are usually very similar to the point that they would not work in a sibset. Lately, I've been crushing on Norbert (right now only for a middle name) and I was perusing the Nameberry lists when I discovered this one;
Which of course, contained Norbert, and so did this list;
Plus the name description did it absolutely no justice.
Is Norbert really that uncool?
And if not, what nicknames could you use other than Bert?

Well, I just watched the first Harry Potter movie again last night, so obviously it's a dragon's name. :-)
That said, it's certainly not a name you'd associate with the coolest kid in school, but that's not the end of the world. As for nicknames, Bertie would be my favourite. I can't think of any other except Norb or Norbie, none of which are that cool.Miriam ~ Helena ~ Estella ~ Beatrice ~ Anastasia ~ Veronica ~ Sarah ~ EstherPaul ~ Wesley ~ Walter ~ Edmund ~ Isaac ~ Abram ~ Gabriel

I don't think it's attractive at all. Norman feels much more usable.Emily • Nineteen • United States
