    I love Calder! I believe it is CALL-der, that's how Eleanor Calder pronounces it. I think you could still use Cal as a nn, though--it's right in there, and people use Cal as a nn for Caleb (which makes even less sense, imo), and Evie (EEvee) for Evelyn (EVuhlin), so I don't see why not.

    My son is named Calder and we pronounce it Call-der. Some other people mispronounce it and call him Colder, which I don't really get, but they struggle (shrug). Even though we don't use the nickname Cal (like pal), I think you totally could. We joke when he's a teenager we'll call him Der (like Duuhr). Congrats! No suggestions on middle name, except that you might want to choose an easy one because people find Calder challenging. I love Ephraim, but it would be unusual too....
