The Perfect Name
No, I'm not expecting, but thinking about names is so fun! I've pored over tons and tons of names, yet I can't seem to find that one name. Now that I've gathered all of the name advice, I've come up with criteria of the perfect name to me.
-cannot start with n
-cannot end with -anna, -ana, -ina, -elle, or -ette
-not too frilly
-elegant and timeless
-soft, pretty sounding
-traditional spellings over alternative
-vintage, but also heard in modern times as well
-not too "old lady"
-not too "soccer mom"
-not too boring like Ann or Mary
-looks good on an application
-recognized by other cultures around the world (for example Anne and Rose)
-a bit of an exotic twist (like Anya), but not too much (like Leilani)
-neither too popular nor too unique
-shouldn't have only one nickname possible (Madison only has Maddy)
-shouldn't have bad nicknames (like Betsy for Elizabeth)
-shouldn't have bad connotation or history
-shouldn't sound Southern (like Charlotte, Evangeline, Georgia, etc.)
-most importantly, should fit her at any age
Some names that I've gotten closest to my "rules" are Rose, Anya, Lily, and Catherine. Can anybody help me find the perfect name? Anything would be much appreciated.
By the way, don't take it too personally if I've described one of your favorite names as boring or Southern, or whatever. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

No kidding you can't find 'the one'. All but 2 of your "rules" are subjective, so I don't find it helpful at all in terms of making suggestions.
Ignore the list- which names make your heart flutter? That's really the only place you can start in order to find 'the one'.
If it weren't for your "rules", would Catherine, Lily, Anya, and Rose still be your top names?Lucia
