Personally, I like Ethel, Mehitabel and Myrna. I also have a soft spot for Hortense and Irma; my great-gma is Yvonne Irma June. I can also see Beulah, Doris, Edna, Elberta, Ernestine, Fulvia, Griselda (?), Joyce and Shirley potentially making a comeback.

I really like Edna & Ernestine from this list. None of these names would shock me in Brooklyn. I mean, if this list was made 10 years ago it would probably include Hazel, Winifred & maybe even Matilda. Those granny images are easily shattered once you meet a few cute babies called Hildie & Irma...which are adorable names imo!

There was a 4 year old Edna on one of the rival t-ball teams this past season. Every time the poor little dear came up to bat there was a hushed but audible gasp from our side in response to her name. I confess for myself that I just never got used to it.
Mother of Gideon Bernard (4/30/09) and Sylvie Louise (9/26/11).
