    While I've never liked Charles, I love Charlie. I think it's fine on its own.

    I prefer Charlie as a nickname to Charles rather than on its own.

    Never liked Charles either, always loved Charlie though! And I've started to find the nickname Chuck endearing. You've got nothing to worry about.
