If you don't like Eleanor I would go with Elinor

Elinor is actually my favorite spelling of this name.

Matilda Sailor or Faye Matilda | Sylvie Winifred or Simon Atlas | Atlas Dov or Alice Violetta | Lucien Wilde or Lucinda Jane | Jane Lucinda or Jack Marlowe | Marlowe Charles or Roscoe Thomas | Charles ' Charlie' Wallace or Marigold 'Maggie' Wynn | Eloise Lily or Elliot Darwin | Iris Cordelia or Thea Marina | Jasper Augustus or Juniper 'June' Lovelace | Julian Felix or Judah 'Jude' Reeve

I agree, Elinor. I personally prefer Eleanor, but I can understand your husband's issue with it, and I think Elinor is a lovely alternative (plus, the lovely Miss Dashwood makes it so appealing!).

I prefer Elinor to Eleanor; the latter looks so extra-vowel-y and stodgy to me where Elinor looks clean and light (and Jane Austen-y!).
