I know 2 Leifs, one pronounced the correct way and one pronounced as "Leaf" (with siblings Rose, Robin, Lily and Forrest). I prefer the "Layf" pronunciation with that spelling and overall I think it's a pretty great name.

I know a "Layf" Leif, who is in his late 20s. It's a great name, and I actually like both of the pronunciations. It's an underused gem.

My brother's name is Leif (rhymes with "safe," like you're considering). I think it's a perfect name.

I'm not a fan of it at all and I can't really imagine it working on a real boy.
