    Jem

I recently have fallen in love with the nickname Jem (for a boy), I think it's breathtakingly gorgeous and just the right type of vintage. Do you think Jem could work as a nickname for Jasper William Malachi or Jasper James William (or any other Jasper William ?/Jasper ? William combo I come up with)? Or would it be too much of a stretch? What other names (besides James) do you think could use Jem as a nickname?

    Thank you in advance! x

I think it's cute! I grew up in the 80's, so I associate Jem with a cartoon rockstar, but I still think it'd work for a boy. And yeah, it sort of makes sense for the name Jasper. Other names it might be able to work with are Jemaine/Jermaine, Jeremias, Jemuel, Jarem/Jerram, or Jeremy.

Jem is short for Jeremy in "To Kill a Mockingbird". I think it's such a charming nickname. It works for any of the boy names containing the letters j,e,m. The previous poster listed most, but there is also Jerome and Jeremiah. Jasper is a bit of a stretch but paired with William all the necessary letters are there. Otherwise make his initials spell Jem. ex: Jasper Everett Michael

Were you inspired by the baby boy in 'House Husbands'? I've been loving this name lately too!

I can see it working on Jasper with any middle name- Jasper is a gem after all! But I also love the initials spelling JEM idea if you feel like it doesn't quite fit with just Jasper.
