I'm sick of getting bad feedback on this name!

    Asa!

Everyone (mostly on YA answers..) assumes it's either a girl name or is pronounced AS*-UH and any little boy called Asa will be bullied relentlessly. The thing is, I love Asa. I love it just as much as Ada for a girl (though it kills me that I could never use both). Do you guys think it's usable?

Also, do you prefer August or Asa?
Matilda, Beatrix, Lucille, Margo, Ivy, Guinevere, Isadora, Violet, Ada, Alice, Hermione, Cora, Elizabeth, Flora, Olive, Sybil, Isolde
Felix, Henry, Ambrose, Darcy, Asa, Ezra, August, Oscar, Theodore, Edward, Clark, Arthur, Jasper, Winston, Percival

I know Asa is a Bible name with a long history but I really don't care for it. In my opinion it's kinda hissy sounding, a bit insubstantial and way to close to @ss. I'm sorry, but I would not want my name to be Asa and I wouldn't use it for a first name. Maybe in the middle?
I much prefer August and Ada.

Asa isn't my cup of tea and I prefer August and Ada as well. There is nothing wrong with Asa though, beyond the mispronunciation issues.

I like Asa, actually. I don't think Asa's any worse or more difficult than any other -a boys' name (Ezra, Jonah, Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Judah, Micah, etc.). Just more obscure, so people aren't quite so familiar with it. I think it's handsome. I much prefer Asa to Ada, but I do slightly prefer August to Asa (mainly because I adore Auggie and Gus!).

    Good luck!

I have a good friend named Asa. He loves it and gets compliments on it constantly, especially when meeting ladies.

I think it is a rather fabulous name.
