Frustrated! Looking for a name for son #3...

    Hi Everyone,

I've posted on here a bit, and we thought we had *the* potential names for our baby. We tend to stick with traditional names; James, William, and Elise are our first three. I was so sure it was going to be a girl based on morning sickness (we would probably have ended up w/ Natalie as a first name), but we just found out it's going to be a BOY! Now my husband is claiming he isn't absolutely in love with Alexander (and neither am I), so we are kind of back to square one.

    Names I like:
Colin (husband says, "I dunno, it doesn't ring for me yet...")
Michael ("Mikey") (husband says "ehh..annoying little monster name")
    Henry (husband hates it)
    Miles (husband doesn't like)
    Charles (husband says, "mmm, maybe")

    Names my husband likes:
Jackson (I hate it! Doesn't go with our sibset, anyway!)
Jack (I don't really like it and would like to avoid using J, W, or E for a first initial)

Possible middle name is Orin (it's a family name).

Can you help? Suggestions that would work with our family names would be awesome. I am Laura and my husband is Joe. Thanks in advance!

Well, it seems that the names you can both *sort of* agree on are Colin and Charles. So keeping in the C theme, maybe you would like

    Callum
    Calvin
    Chase
    Christopher
    Clark
    Corbin
    Cormac

Based on your like for classic names, I would also suggest
    Nathan
    Robert
    Daniel
    Peter
Jonathan (hubby could use nn Jack for this one!)
    Benjamin
    Samuel/Samson
    Theodore (Theo or Teddy)
    Andrew (Drew)
    Jacob

    any stickers?
    Girls: Sophie, Delphine, Eleanore
Boys: Christopher "Topher", Gray, Aurelian "Rex"

Ooh, thank you! He says "maybe" for Theodore, which I think is a great name.

I suggest the lovely, underused, Shakespearean...
    Corin.
He's a minor character but a nice one. The name is almost Orin and almost Colin. Can be nicknamed Cori or Cor...

For a middle, are there any other family names? Corin Charles could be handsome, or Corin Alexander.

I agree, timeless classics seem to be your style. Avoiding dreaded initials:

    Andrew
    Anthony
    Benjamin
    David
    Edward
    Elliott
    Grant
    Laurence
    Mitchell
    Malcolm
    Nicholas
    Peter
    Philip
    Robert
    Stephen
    Thomas
    Victor
    Blade, MD

    XY: Antoine Raphael (3.1.2012)
    XX: Cassia Viviane Noor (11.30.2013)
