Oh wow, I really like a lot of these. Thanks for the great unusual suggestions. PLEASE keep them coming!

I will definitely take Gareth, Griffin, and a few others to the discussion ... though some of them, unfortunately, are indeed great names but with stinkers of students permanently attached in my memory.

Glad to hear people's opinions on whether Linus and/or Feivel are usable...

    Love Felix, Seamus, and Linus!
I also really like a lot of the names you vetoed. Oscar, Amos, Asa, and Reuben are great names. I really love Asa and Amos!

I've been a teacher for 9 years so I can see why you wouldn't want to use a name that already reminds you of someone.

You have a lot of great ideas! As a teacher I hear the sentiment of wanting an original name, but just remember - you've probably got years of teaching to go, and don't be disappointed if you wind up with a student with your son's name sooner or later!

I love Amos Theodore and Arlo Theodore from your 'nixed list' \
Felix Theodore sounds spunky, flows great, and probably goes well with your daughter's name.

What about Rafael Theodore? I think it sounds great, and it's a fuller first than Raffi.

I'm not into Feivel - it reminds me of a very old man from Eastern Europe. I wouldn't use it unless you had to for specific reasons. Sorry.
