    Which variant do you prefer?

My husband and I disagree on which is better. Pronouncing them as spelled, traditionally. Hence the disagreement.

    Are you pronouncing them differently?

This doesn't help. Thomas isn't pronounced with the 'th' sound so technically Thorsten and Torsten could sound identical despite spelling.

Torsten looks very strange to me, but I'm also not very familiar with the name period.
