Thanks for the responses! It had never crossed my mind to use Henry w/ nn Huck, but I kinda like that idea. Would it get confusing w/ teachers, etc? It'd be nice to avoid having to correct people. Huxley is also interesting, though I've seen a few people here with it on their girls' lists. Is it too unisex?

I love Huck as a nn for Henry. I'm sure teachers would be elated to have a kid with an interesting nn.

We have a Charlie, nn Huck.

Huxley was my choice but my husband didn't like it. We also considered Finnegan and Griffin (Huck Finn)

Our son Henry has the occasional nickname of Huck. Henry's the only name I care for with the nickname Huck.

I know that alot of people on nameberry aren't fans of naming a cihld a nickname, but I'm all for it. I LOVE Huck. I imagine someone who is adventurous, enthusiastic, and down to earth.
