    Spelling for Lara????

So we like the name Lara (as in Lara Spencer). With her spelling is everyone going to pronounce it like Laura? Any suggestions?

Why would people pronounce Lara like Laura? Over here Lara rhymes with Zara, Mara, Cara etc. Besides, Lara Croft is an extremely familiar example of the name. With that influence in popular culture I doubt anyone will mistake Lara for Laura.

I feel the same way, but wasn't Lara Croft pronounced Lora?

I don't think everyone will pronounce Lara and Laura the same. It might be the same in some accents but I know that in my accent, Lara and Laura are totally different (LAHR-uh vs. LORE-uh).
