    I agree that Leonidas sounds a bit like a disease. I also find the pronunciation tricky; where I lived in Greece, it was always said "Ley-ohn-nee-dees" with the d almost a "th" sound, so I think you might have more trouble getting the pronunciation you want. Finally, I think that, at least in the US, it would commonly evoke the movie 300. 'THIS! IS! SPARTA!'
