It's the surname of my childhood best friend, she was a girl and had a little sister obviously baring the same last name so in my mind I see it as feminine. I suppose it could work on both genders as most surname-turn-names do, I view it as I do the majority of surnames: don't detest it but don't love it either.

If I think of all of the words that rhyme with this name (glutton, mutton, button), I have to say no to Sutton. I've been seeing it more for girls than boys on other websites lately.
    All the best,

It's not all that attractive, especially in my accent, but I do prefer seeing it on a boy. There's nothing feminine about it.
