I am an atheist and I would still use a biblical name.

The bible gives names legitimacy even if I don't believe in its teachings.

I am Catholic, but I agree with your point regardless. As for the Bible, you don't need to believe in the spiritual aspects of the religion to appreciate the history. I'm really no expert on the religion to be honest, but if you read the Bible as a story instead of a religious teaching, it's almost like a historical story. You can admire the personality of someone in the Bible without agreeing with the religion to it. Many of us like some Greek mythological names but we don't actually believe in the Greek gods for example.

My name is from the bible, but my parents aren't religious.
There is this girl I know whose siblings are all named from the bible and they are very religious.

    The names are:

    Esther
    Dahlia
    Joshua
Jonathan (It might be spelled with a Y instead of a J because his NN is Yoni)

    Current Favorites
    August - Daniel - Erik - Heath - Leo - Ronan
    Eve - Fiona - Johanna - Lana - Lena - Sally

It depends. I'm not religious so I won't go out of my way to find a name that's biblical, but.. if there is a name I like and it happens to be mentioned in the bible then I'll use it anyway. Melchior for instance.. Or Moses, Adam, Samson, Peter, Eva, Sarah, Lillith, Anna, Hannah. I refuse to avoid an entire group of names simply because I'm not religious.
