Can Cordelia take me to Dot?

Yet another post about my favourite short-form, Dot. Opinions please: can Cordelia be reasonably shortened to Dot?

    Thanks!

I would be a little weird IMO. How about full name Dottie?

I love Cordelia, and I think Dot is sweet. But I don't think Cordelia can take you to Dot, realistically. If you're willing to do such a stretch, then just pick your favourite name, and nn Dot.
    Girls - decided!

Boys - Arthur - Desmond - Edmund - Edwin - Frederick - so hard to choose!

I've been loving Peridot since I saw a list of "jewel names". Even though I think it's pronounced Peri-doh you could still use Dot.
