Need British inspired names for a best friend. Help!

Just starting to write on a rather old idea. Everyone has a name, except for the main character's bestfriend. This best friend, a girl, has a rather important role in the story. So her name has to be right. I'm super picky about names. They have to fit the character. So anyway, the bestfriend is kinda boisterous but not to an obnoxious point. She's a brunette. Hazel eyed. Sorta petite. When I think of her, I keep thinking British type funny girl. I want a British-like name. I thought of Adele (not because of the singer, I just like the nn Delly). Also I kinda like Presley. But idk. Whatever it be, it can't be too soft because the main character's name is Claire-Jane. So what do you guys think? Any good Brit names?

How about Adela or Adelia instead of Adele? It has a soft yet strong sound, plus you get the nicknames Ada and Della. If not, there's always:
    Amelie
    Annabel
    Araminta
    Eva
    Freya
    Gwendolyn
    Hermione
    Matilda
    Jessamine
    Lydia
    Flora
    Anwen

Hope you find something you like!

I wouldn't pick Presley. That's not the sort of name we'd use at all. My suggestion is to decide when the character was born and then go here for some ideas. It only goes back to 1996 but it should still give you some indication of our naming trends.
    ~Boys~

Jory Leander Atticus, August Eli Benedict, Casimir Mordecai Stewart,
Edmond John Meirion, Horatio Ethell Emery, Bram William Jasper,
Julian Remy Charles, Vasiliy Lochlan Michael.

    ~Girls~

Aira Rose ___, Eleni Fiorella Charlotte, Sylvia Sayuri Noor,
Merit Eleanora Adelaide, Clover Elodie Seraphine, Bridie Scarlett Viola,
Marguerite Cecilia Iris, Eilidh Clara Valentine.

Sorry to anyone who read TSI. First draft was terrible. Second drafting now.

I agree with ren, or you could check this out for top 100 lists from 1984, all the way back to 1890. She's also got some nice lists of different styles and eras.
