    I have been reading it as tal-ee-tha. Is that wrong?

    I wouldn't use it (I tend to stick to the non-New Testament spectrum of baby names for myself, it feels more authentic) but I don't think its ugly. I'd like to see it on someone else's kid. It reminds me of Talia (tahl-ya) which I like very much.

    I love Talitha. I probably prefer it to Tabitha, actually.
    I remember reading a children's novel about a girl named Talitha... I think she went by Tally.
