    Garnet! What do you think??

Hi everyone- Hubby and I are not currently expecting, but like most of you, I love to think about what I would name the next baby girl.

As you can see in my signature, I really like Marin/Maren, and Artis. Hubby is not fond of Artis. Ok, he absolutely hates it!!! So I'd love to know your thoughts on Garnet. It's an old family name (my great-granfather's middle name), and it is really sticking with me.

Do you like Garnet? What middle would you pair with it? Do you think it sounds nice with Willow Allegra and Veda Juliette?

    Thanks

I think it matches well with Willow and Veda. I like Garnet, but I don't love it because it reminds me of "Darn It!" I still like it though and it would be nice for a baby with red hair or that was born in January.

Thanks for the responses. I don't think that "darn it" bothers me, so that wouldn't deter me.

It's funny that you mention red hair...I always assumed I wouldn't have a baby with red hair because my hubby is black, but Veda's hair is medium brown with a very coppery tinge! My mom is a redhead, I have a bunch of redheaded cousins, my grandmother is a redhead, and it's her father who was Harold Garnet.

I would like it; if it wasn't my best friend's cat - sorry! As an unusual gem name though I think it's cool, I slightly prefer Onyx, and I think that Garnet has more substance and "grrr" than Willow and Veda - which are lovely but very feminine and delicate imo.
