Smile Darn you, popularity! Help with alternatives?

    So I need some help...
Expecting my second child 6/10. Gender will be a surprise. With my son (Sullivan), the girl name I had picked out was Violet. Well, as you know, this name as consistently climbed the ladder and is now too common for my taste. I have several options selected if this child is a boy, but not so much for a girl.

For reference, here are the girl names that are sort of hovering on my list:

    Verity
Maeva (DH loves this one...I'm not sold)
    Theodora (nn Thea)
    Sparrow
    Mabyn

VERY VERY open to suggestions...We're not into anything that's too gender-neutral, and not so big on "kreatif" spellings.

Our last name is one syllable and starts with H.
    Thanks in advance!!!

Love most of those name especially Verity.

The only one i dislike is Sparrow. I'm not sure where you are from but over here and i believe in China house sparrows are a considered to be common pests.

I've always loved Sparrow for a girl though I probably would never actually use it myself.

Congratulations and welcome to Nameberry, M.B.H.!

    My recommendation is ...

    Sullivan [and]

Boys: Callahan / Flannery / Gallagher / Oscar / Rafferty

    [or]

Girls: Cagney / Cassidy / Deirdre / Eilley / Tierney

... a sibset comprised of Irish names.
