Names From Old Movies!
I watched an old movie yesterday on AMC that was made in 1954. It was set in the time period from the 1850's when our great and great great grand parent's names were all that. The name of the movie was "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". The fashions made me think about stereotypes and one of the songs in this musical included the lyrics " Someday those Women Folk will have Rights too"! It made me laugh......but our poor Grandma's!
The brothers were:
Adam
Gideon
Benjamin
Caleb
Daniel
Frank
Ephraim
and their Brides were:
Milly
Alice
Dorcas
Sarah
Ruth
Liza
Martha
It got me thinking how cool it is that a lot of these names are coming back or have been popular in the past 20 years or are still popular. I really do Love all of these names!
