I'm not really a fan as all I can think of is the syrup. The name doesn't feel ready for a revival to me. Do you like Gemma?

It carries a supreme amount of baggage in the US, so if you're here I would avoid it. It has a sweet sound and those nicknames are cute. I also think Mim (pronounced Mem), Mima (pronounced Meema), or Jemma/Gemma could work. If you are in the US and don't want the weight of Jemima -- Gemma, Jeanette, or Genevieve might work, and you could use the same nicknames.

PP have a good point. I would go with Jemma or Gemma, nn Jem or Gem.
