    Is Calder usable?

I've really loved the name Calder for a while now, but I'd like to hear some thoughts on it before I consider using it, thanks

I've never heard of it before. My immediate association was with calderas -the craters you get in volcanoes. Not really my style but it's growing on me, especially with the nn Cal

It fits the surname trend and I think it is fine. I like the sound of it. Makes me think of the Calder trophy in the NHL.

I like Calder quite a bit. It has a very natural feel due to its meaning, and I think the nn Cal is quite handsome. I go to Eleanor Calder straightaway, but I don't think that's really a bad association...
