Ottilie, I have been watching your posts with interests and while I really like a lot of the names, they are just too much for me to realistically use. My children are, so want something that won't feel too strange with their names and things like Hypatia or Endymion would just feel out of place to me.

Names I like suggested so far.

Isadora, Evaine (but prefer Yvaine spelling, but it's kind of unusable in Finnish), Beatrix, Celeste, Luna, Persephone, Seraphine, Embla, Iris, Iselin, Saga (too cliche here maybe), Niniane (and found Nimue researching this which I really like and they'd say it the same way in Finnish I think), Theia, Tempest, Chrysanthe, Altalune, Vesper, Tabitha, Eira, Branwen, Miranda, Ianthe,

Ronan, Alastair, Hector, Cassius, Inigo, Taliesin, Magnus, Lysander, Tristan, Zephyr (again can't really use in Finland as they say Ys differently), Bran, Heron, Orion, Oriel, Sylvan,

Not sure how many are really usable here or that I would use, but it gives me some things to think about. Ronan, Magnus, Iris were already on my list.

Thanks and any other suggestions are always welcome as I'm starting from scratch this time as I just can't find names I love.

Irmgard - I really like Eirlys and Elowen, but don't think they'd work here in Finland. Love Thisbe, but not sure if I'm brave enough to use it. I can hear all my US family saying 'like frisbee?'. I like Winter as well, but think I would probably use the Finnish Talvi instead as it's more interesting and you don't have the problem with the W that they pronounce V here.

mei mei - I like a lot of your names but think they are expected with my kids' names. This will be my last baby and I really want a name that is special, but not too out there. Alba is a big love, but probably too similar to my DD's name. Cormac is my DP's top choice and while I really like it, not sure if I love it enough. I really love the Gaelic version of Oren - Oran or Odhran, but someone I know here just named their baby Oran, so would seem odd to use it. August is another name DP and i really like.

    thanks.
