Boy/Girl Twins Ford and Carson? Does it evoke too much "car" theme??

We are expecting boy/girl twins in 5-6 weeks and haven't fully settled on names yet, but are leaning strongly towards naming the boy Ford. That being said, I have always really liked Carson for a girl, but I am now concerned about the connotations with the car brand "Ford" and have "Car" in my daughter's name as well. Does this bother anyone else or am I being too sensitive?

Other girl names under consideration are Ann-Blair, Hayes, Ellis, Bridget, and Leighton. I know surnames for girls are controversial on here, but I am in the South and its pretty popular in this area.

Expect for their names to constantly be confused. I took care of siblings named Peyton & Hayden. Which one is the girl? And I'd mix up their names all the time and the boy especially hated it. I like a lot of gender benders but I think it's good for sib names to differentiate gender.

To answer you question, yes I think of a Ford car. I'd go with Leighton or Ann-Blair, although I prefer Blair or Anna-Blair

Definitely too much car theme, and they both sound like boys. I personally would not put the two together.

Ford and Carly would be better, or Ford and Bridget. Hayes and Ellis sound lacking as firsts. Anna-Blair or Blair would be much better, Leighton's a good pick but it's much longer than Ford.

I do like Ford and Leighton.

I would automatically think you had 2 boys... And the "car" theme somehow reinforces that. I really like the name Anna-Blair

Carson McCullers, if you're thinking of Carson as a reference to her, was actually named Lula (Carson being her mother's maiden name). Surnames-on-girls are definitely very popular in the South, but historically they were strictly family names.

All that aside, I think Carson wold be a poor choice next to Ford for the obvious reason you listed.

Ford and Bridget aren't bad together. I'd avoid Carson with Ford because of the car theme and also because people would constantly think Carson was a boy.

Carson & Ford are cute for twin boys. It just doesn't work for b/g twins, sorry.

I agree that Carson and Ford are too much together. However I love Ann-Blair!

I really detest Carson for a boy or girl. If I heard these names, I would assume you had b/b twins. However, I ADORE Ann-Blair. Hope you go with that!

I don't think it is too much of a car theme. Would be much worse if you had chosen Ford and Mercedes.

However I agree that Carson sounds like a boy.
Actually I really dislike -son names for girls. Even Madison bothers me... I'm weird like that.
