Lionel- I know a Lionel. Funny, talented, a bit fussy. I like the contrast of the indoor, dusty-booked sound of the name against the outdoor imagery of lions rough-housing.
Lucien- The "light" name that most embodies the feeling of light imo. Lucien is so warm and clear. Sumptuous.
Sterling- I knew one who was the dearest, rosy-cheeked, Southern gentleman. A class act, and the name fit him perfectly. It's like silver bells.

Etienne - one of the best French names. Etienne sounds like little rivers and has a silvery twinkle to it.
Lucien - I prefer Lucius or Lucian, but Lucien is very pretty as well. For some reason this name makes me think of silver figurines.
Sterling - makes me think of hunters and warriors with starling birds flying over their heads.
