    Sibling names for Susanna Lake

My husband and I just welcomed our baby girl, Susanna Lake, in September. Of course, I am already creating names for her future sibling(s) and need your advice, as you were so instrumental in selecting our daughter's name.

Meanings are important to us, as are the potential for a cute nickname. We call Susanna 'Zuzu' and love that she has a solid, strong first name and spunky nickname. For middle names we tend to like names/words that have some personal meaning (eg - 'Lake' after the location of our honeymoon!). For our next child we are considering Southern Californian/Central California Coast themes, in honor of the location of our engagement.

    Favorites for First Name, Girl:

    Mirabel
    Coralie
    Margot
    Indira
    India
    Josephine
    Phoebe
    Daphne
    Dahlia
    Juniper
    Seren
    Ynez/Ines
    Geneva
    Calliope
    Paloma
    Wren
Imogen (my husband hates this name, but I love it!)
Elizabeth (my grandmother's name, nickname - Tess or Libby)
Katherine (nickname - Kate, I think this might be too common)

For middle names (girls), we are considering:

    Sage
    West
    Ynez/Ines

    Favorites for First Name, Boys:

Julian (Is this getting too common?)
    Wesley
    Theodore
    Elliot
    Orson
    Winston
    Miles
    Milo
    Cormac
    Wallace
    Cole
    Duncan
    Everett

For middle names (boys), we are considering:

    West
Sage (only with a strong first name)
    Wilder

We welcome any/all suggestions and combinations!

    Thank you

Out of the girls first names I liked these best:

    Mirabel
    Coralie
    India
    Josephine
    Phoebe
    Daphne
    Juniper
    Geneva
    Calliope

For girls middle names my favorite is Sage.

    Favorites for boys first names:

    Theodore
    Elliot
    Orson
    Winston
    Milo
    Everett

I don't like Sage as a boy's name, even in the middle. It sounds too much like Paige. My favorite boys middle name is Wilder.
I'm a young writer who's obsessed with baby names!!!!!!!!

Mirabel - beautiful! Mirabel Sage is fantastic.
Coralie - Coralie West is gorgeous
Josephine - Josie or Phina would be cute
Elizabeth - love Tess and Libby!
    Katherine - what about Kit?

I think Sage would work beautifully for most of the girl names you have.

Wesley - I love this one with Susanna
Theodore - love it! This would also work really well. Theodore West would be great
Miles - you could use Milo as a nn for Miles or Mill as well
Cole - great name, rarely heard these days
Everett - Everett Wilder would be very cool

    Other options for middles:
    Avila (for the beach)
    Cambria
Olive (common in the Ynez area)
    Simeon (san simeon)
    Drake (bay)
Ansel (for Adams who explored much of the area)
    Bay
Rafael (for the san rafael mountains)
    Olivia/Livia/Livy/Liv : Thessaly/Darah/Bethel : Noelle/Eve
    Benedict/Eli: Jude/Zane: Luke/Darius : Levi/Phineas/Calvin

kala_way beat me to it, but I was also going to recommend Cambria and Avila. Cambria is especially lovely. Marin is a little further north, but still beautiful.

Mirabel: I don't love names that end with "bel", but I like that this one is unique.
    Coralie: Very pretty
Margot: Not my favorite because I have a hard time seeing it on a little girl.
    Indira: Very fun and spunky!
    India: I like Indira better.
Josephine: This is all the rage on Nameberry, but I just can't get behind it. Doesn't sound pretty to me.
Phoebe: Fun! the little phoebe birds are so cute.
Daphne: I like Daphne better than Phoebe I think. It feels natural and pretty, but a bit airy.
Dahlia: I strongly associate this name with one ethnic group, not sure if it actually is more common there.
    Juniper
Seren: Feels incomplete, but so pretty.
    Ynez/Ines:
Geneva: Very pretty, but European, not California
    Calliope
    Paloma
    Wren
Imogen (my husband hates this name, but I love it!)
Elizabeth (my grandmother's name, nickname - Tess or Libby): I like Libby or Eliza
Katherine (nickname - Kate, I think this might be too common): As a Kate, I can tell you it is the best of names to carry. I knew a lot of Kates in high school, but as soon as I went to college I met none and still know none. I think it was just popular in my hometown.

I love Julian, Milo/Miles, and Theodore (Theo) from your boys.

I would encourage you to look into names of California writers if you want to honor California. For example: Mary Austin, John Steinbeck, Robinson Jeffers, Bret Easton Ellis (yuck, but cool name), Kate Wiggin, Sarah and Josiah Royce, Henry Miller, John Muir.
    Names I enjoy:

    Girls: Lucy, Elena, Lake, Sylvie

    Boys: Jack, Eamon, Sylvan, Theo
