@ Alzora, Thank you for the welcome. I would say that before July 2012 my periods were 38-40 days in length for the last 10 or so years. My DR. does not think that its related to stress. I am overweight and have been irregular way before our wedding and engagement. Self diagnosed, I have lots of the symptoms of PCOS. After starting the drugs yesterday, we realized that we could be pregnant come Christmas if everything goes as planned.TTC since March 2013

Welcome to the forum, Tiffany and Cosmonaut!
@Tiffany - That's so frustrating about your cycles. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19 and I'd gone about 6 months without a period at that time. I was put on the Pill to regulate things, and when I went off it a few years later, I did have somewhat regular cycles (though a bit on the long side). I've just come off the Pill again and hope I've started to ovulate, but I may need intervention at some point. I hear drugs like Metformin and Clomid can work very well with PCOS though, so I'm crossing my fingers for you!
@Cosmonaut - Your story is so interesting! Are you originally from South Africa? My husband and I were there a few years ago (Cape Town, Durban, and Jo'burg) and we loved it. Best of luck to you with managing the diabetes with TTC (and of course having small kids as well).Estella ~ Helena ~ Miriam ~ Beatrice ~ Anastasia ~ Ruby ~ Ivy ~ MarillaPaul ~ Wesley ~ Walter ~ Martin ~ Edmund ~ Fraser ~ Alexander

@Tiffany - Sorry it's so frustrating with your cycles. I have cysts on my ovaries and am currently TTC with the help of Clomid. So far the Clomid has only regulated my cycle, still waiting for ovulation. Good luck to you!
@alzora - Planned, non-spontaneous TTC sex is not that fun. Anytime you "have to" do something instead of doing it purely for fun is a chore. I'm with you - I love the TWW because it is my most hopeful time of the month.TTC #1

Well, I'm out for this month. This was my fifth month. My expectations for this month were low, but I was still hoping! Anyway, next ovulation is due August 30, which is cool. Doesn't seem too far away! This will be our last month trying before I start temping. I've been trying to avoid it, but I always said if it didn't happen after six months then that's what I'd do. By the way, I've always gotten a positive OPK until this month, but turns out I would've ovulated the day before I started testing (I know this because my period is always exactly fourteen days after ovulation). I only tested over three days this month before I ran out of tests, but I'm going to have to get some new ones now! My ovulation dates often vary by a day or two. Good luck to everyone else for August!TTC #1

Well I am out for the month, but I was expecting it so no surprise here.
Welcome Tiffany and Cosmonaut!
@andieta- I came off the pill last August, so it was quite a long time ago, but I was on it for 12 straight years, so maybe some hormonal difficulties can be expected.
@Maggie and @Alzora- I will definitely talk to my doctor if I continue to have difficulties, but I am trying natural things right now. I am getting acupuncture and going to introduce herbs. I have also made some dietary changes. Hopefully things will come together soon! Otherwise I will look into some fancy medical options.
