Hi Again Ladies,
Just wanted to say thanks for all the warm congratulations and well-wishes from Daisychain, Whitegold, Violetink1231, Sarahmezz, MaggiefromCanada, December, Milasmama and Khaatje.
@Khaatje- Congratulations to you too! So happy for you, and what a great story! To find out on your way to a baby shower?? How funny and ironic!
@Violetink1231- Your story has touched me and I'm pulling for you. I live in the south too, and many of your names were on our list: Lillian, Eleanor, Maeve and Cecilia. Good luck in your continued ttc journey.
@Daisychain- I'm hoping you get the correct dosage figured out ASAP. Being 34, I understand the pressure of the biological clock ticking, and being delayed at all, even a single month, is devastating. You just never know when your own body will *stop* the process. It is an educated guessing game at best. But, on the bright side: you were able to get pregnant, my OBGYN told me 37 is the *new* 35, and it sounds like others have gotten their dosage figured out fairly quickly. Hopefully your doctor will be supportive of moving things along as quickly as possible, so you can focus on ttc again soon. I'm thinking of you too. Please focus on getting yourself healthy first, and then I'm sure a healthy baby will follow.
@Alzora- There is NOTHING wrong with moving forward with the adoption process. As I'm sure you know, it can take years as well, so starting the adoption journey at the same time you seek more medical assistance with ttc is a good thing. At some point, you will have to make a decision as to which journey to pursue with more intensity, but until then, why not? I'm a big fan of keeping as many options open as possible, for as long as possible. Choices are good in my book. You will know what the best thing for your family is when the time comes. I'm excited for you: about the start of a possible adoption and about being one month closer to September. You are going to make it, I just know it!
@Blade- Thanks for the helpful information. I went to nursing school (dropped out and decided to become a teacher instead) and have several close family members who are in the medical field. It hurts me deeply to hear word-of-mouth stories that somehow become factual, reliable sources of information used to demonize an entire profession/ the people who practice that profession. (And I know *bad* apples are everywhere, including working in hospitals!) However, I know of many more good apples who are trying to do the best for each of their patients, fighting tooth and nail to get them what they need, and it is nice to have someone like you who can speak for them. I thank you for doing your civic duty.Mother of Harold Jonathan, nn Hal

Frances--Thank you for the sympathy. You get it. I am trying not to freak out, and, instead, as you say, focus on getting healthy (which is weird for me b/c without symptoms I never felt unhealthy). I still have the low platelet issue to sort out-- I see that doctor on the 17th, and am hoping it's not a big deal, then I have an appt. mid- August with the endocrinologist to see how the dose took. I'm hopeful. But also worried. It sounds like managing the dosage whil pregnant is tricky, with dire consequences if you get it wrong.
I don't mean to be a downer on the TTC forum, but I'm really feeling like C doesn't necessarily get you much. It's looking like even if C is relatively easy for me, getting to L & D is going to be very difficult. Ugh, sorry for that thought.
But, I'll keep telling myself 37 is the new 35!
I saw Before Midnight in the theater last night. Anyone else totally charmed be the trilogy? Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen this latest yet: Jesse and Celine keep complaining about how old they've gotten. Jesse is 41, my husband's age. And he (the Jesse character) has three kids! One that we knew about in the last installation and adorable identical twins with Celine-- named Ella and Nina, in reference to the love of great female jazz singers the couple shares.
So now I'm officially jealous of fictional characters too. (Actually, now that I think of it I've always been jealous of that particular fictional couple. Never did have that strangers on a train romance.)
Anyway, Khaatje, I am so happy for you! I wish you absolutely a worry free pregnancy. Congratulations to you and your husband!
