I have a question for you all, and I know it sounds stupid but bare with me because I am new at these periods and counting cycle days: no matter how many days you spot before your period, you only start cd1 when you are in full fledged period mode, right?
I normally only spot a few hours before I start my period but I spotted for three days this time (this has never happened). On the third spotting day, right before I went to bed, I started my normal period. So what day is cd1?"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

@megmarie, your question is not stupid! It's a totally legit question to which I unfortunately do not know the answer. I would tend to think the first sign of blood--that is, the first spotting--would be Day 1. That would be the day I would instinctively put in my phone calendar. But @blade or @Mrs H or someone else might be able to tell you for sure.
@butterflykisses, best of luck to you! It's high time you got your BFP.
My period just started today. As soon as this ends we will begin our cycle of trying-without-tracking. Also, I cannot go to the aforementioned fertility specialist because of her affiliation with the hospital; something about the billing and facility fees or some such nonsense...? Diagnostic testing IS covered on my insurance plan, but that particular fertility specialist won't work for me. I have a call in to my general practitioner for a different referral. Actually, I'm a nag, so I have TWO calls in. The insurance spokeswoman told me that "almost all" fertility specialists, at least in this area, are affiliated with a hospital. I don't know if I believe her. A Yellow Pages search brought up quite a few clinic listings. Here's hoping one of them will work.

@megmarie I have the same problem: a few days of spotting, a day of nothing, then wham, the period from hell. My consultant told me to count from the first day of spotting. Also, this could mean you have a shortened cycle and you are conceiving but the embryo doesn't have time to implant before you start your period. B6 supplements can help extend your cycle.

Thank you @alzora! I am supposed to be paying attention to so many things and it is overwhelming since I haven't been having normal signs of ovulation or periods since I went through puberty. It's pretty crazy all of the things that your body does when it is working right haha
@velvetcrush, I ovulated on cd17 this round and started spotting on cd31 (dpo14). That is the normal time to start a period after ovulation, right? I actually kind of thought I was pregnant because of so many crazy symptoms but I am realizing that it is just the Clomid. I am really not handling Clomid well. And yes, it is now the period from hell Thank you for your help though!!!"Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."
