Wednesday, but as of today they hadn't received my medical records yet so it may need to be pushed back. Also I would like to wait until AF definitely shows up so I'm not wasting her time and mine by going. I made the office aware that I am only interested in the HSG test right now. My insurance only covers four office visits per calendar year, so I don't think I can have ALL of the infertility screening done as it requires way more than four visits, unless I'm misunderstanding something. Is there any chance they would do the HSG test in that very first appointment? I may have my period that day and I don't know if they would do that test during menstruation..?
@Sarah, IVF is actually feasible over there! Packing now, be there soon. (The only Australian address I know is P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, so meet me at that location.)

Highly unlikely that you would receive it in the office. The first visit will be a nice long chart review, discussion of your medical history, explanation of how the specialist would like to proceed, etc. The HSG has to be scheduled with the radiology department. Luckily an imaging test won't count as an office visit for insurance purposes (also I cannot believe your insurance has restrictions like this-- do they not cover pregnancy? A pregnant woman has at minimum 14 office visits in a year).
And sheesh on the medical records. Those bad boys should be faxed. If you're feeling eager, you can just go to the medical records department in your prior hospital yourself, in person, and pick up copies.Blade, MD

Alzora please don't distress! I too am a pessimist be nature (somehow expecting the worst and getting the worst is better that hoping for the best and being let down? my life philosophy seems to run along that idea). Please don't fret or work yourself into a panic!! How many months have you been trying? Remember that a lot of the time infertility in young women is more specifically subfertility.
When does your honey go for his testing? They asked me to set up an appointment for DH in urology. Not to see the dr, just an hour long appointment in their, ahem, masterbatorium I'll call it. It could all be their fault still! I'm just kidding no I'm not.
Sarahmezz, Thank you for the info! Oz is slightly too far for me to travel, but it's very interesting to compare US, Canada, Australia, and UK (I just read about an IVF lottery they had in GB?!). Seems like US is the most expensive, dollar exchange accounted for, between the countries... The US healthcare system needs a lot of reform, but that's all I'm going to say about that!

I have no news just catching up on the thread. Thinking of you @alzora......
@sarahmezz the difference in $$ between aus and USA for ivf is significant. Very much cheaper here in aus. Having said that.....our surrogacy and adoption options are SO limited compared to USA.Mummy to the gorgeous Alice Heather and the delicious Harry George
