Have you considered Asa? He was a good king. I have a nephew Asa & the only time I've heard it actually used.

    Other A names...

    Allen
    Astro
    Adam
    Arthur (another king)
    Abraham
    Aram
    Amasa

thanks! I really like the idea of Sasha as the NN for Alexander.
and I love Augustus, Augustin, August, any name with Gus bc its such a cute NN.
Ashford has been added to the list, i like it much more than Asher.
    Rowan, Ren, are very nice
now I just need to come up with some first name+ middle name combos! which is NOT EASY for me!

What about Sylvan instead of Soren or Stellan. It's more english and less scandinavian, but a similar sound a nature meaning.
    Names I enjoy:

    Girls: Lucy, Elena, Lake, Sylvie

    Boys: Jack, Eamon, Sylvan, Theo

If you want to name your baby after his father Alexander how about using Alistair instead which is the Scottish version of the name. I Another 'A' suggestion with the nn Gus is Angus.
15 year old name lover, with a cat named Neville.
