It doesn't sound dated to me. That is my goddaughter's name and that spelling.

I think of Caitlin as being a modern classic, along the lines of Michelle or Natalie. Names that didn't become mainstream or popular until a few decades ago but are still going strong.

i know a 2.5 year old named Kaitlyn. I love the name, and its one of the few where i'm not averse to the variety of spellings - within reason. Caitlin, Katelyn, and Kaitlyn are my favorites.

I think it could be considered an upcoming modern classic - it's well in the top 100 here still. I only like the Caitlin spelling though.

I know a three year old named Caitlin, I think it's a really cute name, not as 90s as something like Brittany or Ashley.
