    I bet he'll be the only David in a class full of Jaxsons, Archers and Maysons. A wonderful name that will be completely fresh to this generation.

    I have many different David's in my family, but all are older. I actually know a 4 year old David, and was surprised by the fresh choice. I do think it's a bit plain, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. If you're worried about it being too plain, I would either use it as a mn or as a fn and call him by his mn. Davy would make a more fresh nn than Dave, as well, as someone else suggested.
