I like both his names but funnily enough being English thought 'are those names?' of your first two picks! Theseus has the option of 'Theo' as a nn but while I like Washington I can't think of a good shortening. Good luck, you have tons of time to decide. When you pick your favourite names as a little kid you always forget you've got to convince someone else to like them too - my husband ruled out everything Irish and anything from a ballet!

I think Wash is a good nickname for Washington. It reminds me of the character from Firefly which is a very good connection, in my opinion.
I like the biblical name Thaddeus which is kind of close of Theseus. It comes with the great nicknames Thad or Tad.
Also:
Abram nn Bram
Ezekiel nn Zeke
Jonah
Barnabus
Micah
