    Well, nicknames are really anything you want them to be since they don't need to be official. You can be named Martha and go by Hephzibah if you want to.

    I guess it has the Ma and x often stands in for "etc." so I see the logic--like I can see it working for Matthew or Maverick or something. I just can't imagine many people named Martha actually wanting to go by Max, but if that's what floats your boat then-- sure thing!

    Thanks, Kala! I love Martha but, have yet to settle on a good one syllable nn option. I thought Max seems cute and spunky while, sticking somewhat close to the origin.
