Twin Girls...Christmas Names...
Okay, so after our attitude change we've narrowed it down again to these three:
Clara Josephine Collins & Eloise Mary Collins (our original choice)
Pros:
-We love Clara
-We love Eloise
-We love the mn Josephine
-We love the combo of Clara & Eloise
-We love the mn combo (Joseph and Mary)
-Josephine is my mn
Cons:
-We don't love Clara Collins
-We don't love Eloise Mary
Eleanor Ivy Collins & Matilda Snow Collins (suggested mainly by sheflieswithherownwings, but many others too)
Pros:
-We love Matilda
-We love Eleanor
-We love the mn Snow
-We love the combo of Eleanor & Matilda
-We love the nns (Nora & Tilly)
Cons:
-The mns might not have enough meaning for us...
-We don't love the combo Eleanor Ivy
Matilda Snow Collins & Eloise Winter Collins (also suggested by sheflieswithherownwings)
Pros:
-We love Matilda
-We love Eloise
-We love the nn Tilly for Matilda
-We love the combo of Matilda & Eloise
-We love both mns
Cons:
-The mns might not have enough meaning for us...
-This is a very nitpicky thing, but we feel like if one child had a nn and the other didn't, it wouldn't be fair...
PLEASE VOTE!
(P.S. Right now we are not open to any other combos, just these 3)

I voted Matilda Snow and Eloise Winter. What about Lou or Lulu as nn for Eloise? I actually prefer Eleanor & Matilda as sisters, but don't find the middles names to be very equitable. Snow is very literal, while Ivy doesn't scream winter/Christmas to me - it's more of an allusion. Picky, I know, but it's what made the decision for me.
Tara, proud mama to a Honey Badger
These days, I'm feeling:
Hugh, Fritz, & Milo
Clio, Luna, & Phoebe

I voted for Eleanor and Matilda because they're lovely as-is, and I think all your other combos could still use tweaking. It sounds like you really love Eloise, and want middle names that remind you of the Christian part of Christmas.
Are you set on Mary and not some variation of Mary?
Matilda Josephine and Eloise Marion or Eloise Marie flow really well IMO.
I think you would probably find nicknames for Eloise- Loie ("Lowee") Ellie, Lola, Kiddo or whatever pet names you have for her.

Spot-on! We just can't find that many good names that we like that have the Christmas meaning behind them--we're looking for something pretty literal. We love the mn Angeline, but it doesn't work with any of our fave fns.
You're right about nicknames--I'm sure we'll find something. As for Mary...we've been through this already. Marion is too masculine for my husband, and Marie is too popular for me. If it was our last resort, I would choose Marie over Mary, but right now our favorite combo is Eleanor & Matilda.
So, about middle names for Eleanor, we don't really know what to do...We love Matilda Snow, but what to go with it...?

I am just so in love with Matilda Snow and Eloise Winter Collins, both are just perfect and still my favourite option for you. I don't think it's too much of a problem one having a nickname and the other one not but I do think for Eloise you easily use Elsie, Lo, Lola and Ellie so there are options there.
I think if you are not loving Clara Collins then that one has to be out because that's whats you are going to hear all the time.
Matilda and Eleanor are lovely together but I much prefer Eloise to Eleanor.Name CrushesCaspar - Rupert - Jacoby - Barnaby - Atlas - Adriel - KoaOlwen - Delphine - Maeve - Peridot - Shoshana
