ottilie and saracita00: I do love Tesla, especially now that I know the meaning. Husband is still on the fence though, and I can understand why. I think he wants to avoid the naming-after-someone-famous thing because he wants to avoid pigeonholing. What if little Caspian is neither electrical genius nor carpenter? What if he wants to be an artist or a physical therapist or an opera singer? Of course Hubs hasn't articulated all of that, but from our discussions I get the sense that's where his hesitation lies. He wants our children to forge their own identities without having to live up to a famous person's legend.
annabellej: I don't know how I missed this reply of yours, but I LOVE Lorien. I had no idea it means "king of dreams!" Will have to see what Husband thinks...Zion Nathaniel ~ Alice Willow ~ Caspian ~ Ophelia Fawn ~ Solomon Fable

Caspian Lorien does sound quite nice, but both are three syll + ends in -n. What's your surname like?
Today I'm suggesting:
Altair: Altair is the brightest star in Aquila. It's one of the stars in the Summer Triangle (with Vega and Deneb). Altair means "the flying one" and it was known as The Eagle Star by the Babylonians and Sumerians.
Enlil: The chief god in the Sumerian pantheon. Means lord + wind/spirit. He was the god of wind and storms.
Torque: A necklet made of twisted metal, worn by celts, vikings and persians.
Hawthorne: A tree of enchantment, associated with witches and fairies, it's often found near springs and wells. Hawthorn is used to promote happiness! And the blossoms symbolizes fertility and marriage. My Petite Amie, March 2013

You are right about the similar endings. We have a double-barreled last name that sounds like Kellar-Strong -- part of why this has been so hard, because I love so many names that start or end in a K or hard C, or have that -ian ending.
I've been in love with Hawthorne forever. If we don't find a mn we both love, my husband says he'll consider it, because he says he can see me in it, what with the Druidry associations and the literary connection of the -e spelling. I hate for him to feel like he's settling, but Hawthorne IS an incredible name. So as things stand it's kind of the back up plan.
Love Altair, for some reason I'd only ever imagined it on a girl, but it works either way. Do you pronounce it al-TARE or al-ta-IR?Zion Nathaniel ~ Alice Willow ~ Caspian ~ Ophelia Fawn ~ Solomon Fable

I'd pronounce it al-TAIR.
I think you'll definitely find a name that will be magical with Caspian, if you want more suggestions, I've got a well of names just waiting to be dipped into...My Petite Amie, March 2013
